Notes from A Small Island

Indeed, I'm suffering from a runny nose and doziness - not too bad really.  The virus has circulated furiously throughout the house - three out of four are affected.  

Have just been searching online about how to stop reaching for tissues every 10 minutes for the annoying running nose and found something interesting. 

Some home remedies for a runny nose:

Salty water 

One of the simplest ways to clear out the toxins that cause a runny nose is to wash the nostrils with a  warm saltwater solution.

Spicy foods

Hot foods clear up nasal congestion, they can also help you cure your runny nose - things like curry, cayenne peppers and ginger.

書中有許多描述台灣民俗, 傳統家庭價值觀的橋段,

印象最深刻的是 七夕圓  

搓七夕圓時要在中心按一個凹

為的是    給織女裝眼淚

這些民俗背後的典故 及 暖暖的鄉土人情味 

有時讓人感動落淚

尤其是身在異鄉

這本書總是勾起對故鄉的思念

雖然目前手邊沒有這本書

可也不覺得有 現在非得讀她 的迫切性

只是眷戀這個 想起舊時光 的時刻
